Welcoming Fall to the Chocolate Shop

By September 25, 2013October 13th, 2014Homemade Chocolate

Last Saturday brought in the beginning of Fall. After a monsoon Summer we’re happy to have 60′ nights and mid-70 degree days. It just feels like time. If you live in a climate that doesn’t have seasonal shifts we’re sorry. The Carolina’s get all 4 seasons quite well. Sometimes Fall and Spring are a bit too quick but overall we’re lucky to be where we are.

White Chocolate Pumpkin Bon BonSeasonal Chocolates

With the seasons shift we say goodbye to some of our Spring and summertime truffles. Our last batches of Lavender , Violet, and Basil are out. Get them while we have them or pine for them over the Winter.

However we welcome members of the truffle and bon bon families back. Memories of white chocolate pumpkin bon bons, the warmth of mexican cinnamon chocolate truffles and of course our ginger chocolate truffles are back.

More goodies will be crafted and coming out as the season continues its march towards Winter. We’re looking forward to all sorts of creations!

Espresso Truffles & Chocolate Bark Redux

We’ve also reworked our formulas for our coffee based products utilizing Jay Gestwicki’s Magnolia Coffee Company. Jay’s loves working with small businesses and we had a lot of fun collaborating. If you loved our espresso truffles or cacao nib bark you’re really going to enjoy them now.

In-House Coffee Service

Over the past 2 years we’ve also been asked numerous times if we offered coffee. Everyone knows that our family is deeply into coffee so why haven’t we offered any?

It costs money, like everything! Over the summer we started picking up pieces to the coffee puzzle and with Magnolia Coffee’s help we developed our own house blend:

The blend is a Brazil Conquista, Costa Rica (Naranjo), and Ethiopia Harrar. The cup is medium bodied, balanced with layers of nice chocolate notes from all 3 origins, with hints of hazelnut & blueberry. Enjoy!

We’re just offering our coffee. No decaf. No espresso. No frapps. Just a solid cup of coffee when you need it, when you’re dragging, when you need something to warm up to while you’re eating that dangerously delicious brownie bar. If you can’t stay for a cup we’ll also be offering it prepackaged whole-bean for home or office enjoyment.

Caffeinated Weekend, September 28th-29th

Join us anytime Saturday or Sunday for free cacao nib espresso bark and espresso truffle samples. We’re also giving out free coffee for any purchase. See what all the buzz is about! Read more about the event on Facebook. No sign ups necessary, drop-in when you like.

What Are You Craving?

While we’re welcoming Fall, what things are you most looking forward to?
